FULLERTON, CA. – (Sept. 5, 2013) – Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) is going deep into the heart of coal country to display new mining tires. YTC will exhibit at the Bluefield Coal Show, set for September 11-13 at the Brushfork Armory-Civic Center in Bluefield, West Virginia.

“The Bluefield Coal Show is held every two years and is the top regional show for underground mining in the country,” said Tim Easter, YTC director, OTR sales. “It’s perfect locale to highlight our new mining tires to the coal industry.”

The new tires YTC will have on display include:

  • Y20™: According to Easter, Yokohama’s new 36-ply heavy-duty Y20 39x15x20 is ideal for scoops and coal haulers needing heavy weight carrying capacity in a 39-inch tall tire. “It also allows for the replacement of a 15-inch rim with a heavy-duty 20-inch rim for better durability and extra room around the hub. This promotes cooler running brakes, and better access and torque on the lug bolts.” Easter added the rugged Y20 was developed to take large shuttle cars down to lower levels, enabling access to deeper coal seams while still offering great carrying capacity.
  • Y67™: Easter said the 36-ply tough-tread Y67 44x15x20 is engineered for large shuttle cars, providing greater carrying capacity without having to change rims, and its wide footprint delivers an improved ride and longer tire life.
